The extensive solutions work on existing soil and are based on the optimization of the interactions between the climate, the soil and the plants.
These solutions consist in establishing on existing soil bamboo plantations controlled by a rhizome barrier.
They are designed depending on the relationships between climate/soil/wastewater and on the discharge objectives.
This type of solutions run on solar energy and meets several different objectives:
- The “zero discharge” performance into surface water environment,
- The compliance with discharge standards for infiltration water,
- The sequestration of CO2: an 1 hectare mature bamboo plantation absorbs approximately 30 tons of CO2 per year,
- Biomass production.
